The end of the year is rapidly approaching and I think most of us would say Good Riddance 2020!! This year the farm took a backseat as I had surgery in January, the veterinary clinic I work for moved in February and then in March COVID hit bringing us to a new way of life. Veterinarians have been very busy since COVID. With all the people at home, many getting new puppies and dogs, we saw a lot more animals this year compared to last. Our new normal is more stressful on everyone and has created more work for the staff, creating more work for me as the CEO as I work on trying to hire and train people as quickly as I can. Thank goodness we have our farm. It is A LOT of work but the work is joyful, and taking care of animals is just what we love to do.
This year we welcomed goat babies and lambs to our farm. Babies bring such joy to us. Especially with our recent babies as many were a surprise! We have been able to find wonderful homes, with some wonderful new friends to our farm. We are always available to answer questions or give advise.
Thank you to everyone who came to our farm, and came to our events. We hope they bring you as much joy as they bring us. The smiles and laughter we hear from people truly make sharing our animals a reminder of what animal therapy can do for people. I like to call them the natural antidepressants.
We also had 36 families and friends who came to visit our farm and stay and experience a little blip of how peaceful farm living can be. Getting away from the city, especially during COVID was ESPECIALLY appreciated this year. THANK YOU for visiting. We took extra precautions this year, allowing extra time between guests and making sure that we followed the strict cleaning protocols that were recommended by Air BnB. We hope all of you can think of our farm as home away from home. We would welcome you back!
This time of year we reflect on the blessings we have received and we thank all of you that we have met for making our days a little brighter.
Happy Holidays! May your light in 2021 shine bright.
